Position Overview

We are seeking a full-time, experienced Systems Engineer to design, develop, and maintain the core architecture of SLM’s enterprise ERP platform. This role is crucial to ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability as we continue to enhance our data management and operational systems.

You will work closely with SLM’s Operations Excellence (OpX) department and collaborate directly with management and cross-functional teams to deliver robust, innovative solutions that support business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement backend architecture and data structures for SLM’s ERP application.
  • Develop, test, and maintain new features and core components.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align technical solutions with business needs.
  • Drive best practices in software engineering, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and version control.
  • Ensure systems are scalable, secure, and well-documented.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong expertise in Python (with Django or similar frameworks).
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab, GitHub Actions).
  • Solid knowledge of Linux environments and system administration.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred).
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles and architectural patterns.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or related field.
  • Experience with RESTful API development and integration.
  • Familiarity with Django REST Framework.
  • Exposure to React or modern front-end frameworks.
  • Knowledge of accounting or ERP systems is a plus.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and agile methodologies.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
